Electric Pocket Bikes – Small In Size But Big On Fun

Published by Scott Maxwell under Motorcycles

Everyone knows that motorcycles, while being a fun and efficient vehicle, can also be somewhat dangerous. Unfortunately, many people will get into accidents involving motorcycles because they do not take themselves seriously enough while riding them, feeling that a motorcycle is simply a vehicle for fun. Anyone who feels this way should consider investing in electric pocket bikes instead of a motorcycle, because it gives them the chance to still have the fun of a motorcycle without the larger risk.

When a person buys a pocket bike, they are getting a smaller version of a typical motorcycle. They will still be able to find a number of classy styles of pocket bikes, not sacrificing any class in the tradeoff. These smaller bikes will typically get up to 15 miles an hour, which is much slower than a real bike but still enough to enjoy oneself.

Adults can enjoy pocket bikes just as well as children can. Many of these bikes can accommodate riders up to 170 pounds. While the shape of the bike may not be convenient for anyone who is over 6 feet tall, one will still be able to maneuver the bike rather easily. This allows one bike to have a lot of use.

A person who invests in a pocket bike will have something fun to enjoy that will not require gasoline. A pocket bike runs on electric power that has been stored in 12 volt batteries which are fully rechargeable. The rider should get at least 30 minutes of continuous use out of one of these bikes.

Running on electric energy, these bikes are also super quiet. You can ride them around without causing much of a distraction in your neighborhood. This makes electric pocket bikes into a great choice when you or your children want all of the fun that can come with a motorcycle but you know the responsibility for a real bike wouldn’t be there.

If you want to buy electric pocket bikes, check out the Electric Pocket Bikes web site.

2007 Hyundai Cars: What’s New For 2007

Published by Alfred Lancer under Motorcycles

(1) The 2007 Hyundai Sonata

The 2007 Sonata is the smaller of Hyundais two midsize sedans. It comes in three models: a) The Sonata Limited trim is the top-line model and has a 235-hp V6 and 5-speed automatic as well as heated front seats, automatic climate control and fine leather upholstery. b) The Sonata SE also has a 235-hp V6 and 5-speed automatic. c) The Sonata GLS has 162-hp 4-cylinders and a choice of either 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission. All models are equipped with ABS and traction/antiskid control as well as front-side and curtain-side airbags.

While the old version reminded many car patrons of a Jaguar in terms of style, the 2007 version looks even better, with a front lamp that resembles an Audi and a backside that looks like an Accord. The thin roof pillars and the driver’s upright position also contribute to its esthetic value. The 2007 Sonata is also bigger, sharper and more technologically advanced version than the 2006 model. Overall, the Sonata’s advantage over other cars of its class such as the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry and Nissan Altima is that it combines comfort, spaciousness, sophisticated design and reliable performance as well as a reasonable price.

(2) The Hyundai Accent

The new, completely re-designed 3-door Hyundai Accent hatchback is a welcome addition to the 4-door sedan introduced in 2006. Compared to the sedan, the Accent is a sportier ride in terms of both appearance and performance. It also boasts of side-curtain airbags, which are a rare feature in vehicles of this size and price range.

The 2007 Accent has superb handling, an attractive Euro style hatch and a strong safety kit. Sold in GE and SE trims, the Accent looks small on the outside but is surprisingly roomy inside, both front and rear. Its excellent fuel economy makes it an ideal choice for urban drivers, especially in places where gas costs as much as $6/gallon. Many have commented that the Accent 3-door 2007 model is even more attractive than the 4-door 2006 Accent sedan unveiled last year. The 2007 model brings back memories of the 3-door Honda Civic CX hatch from the mid-nineties or the Opel Corsa from General Motors which is so popular these days in Europe.

(3) The Hyundai Elantra

Many automotive industry observers consider the 2007 Hyundai Elantra a worthy challenger to the subcompact sedan field, which features the likes of the Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla and Nissan Sentra. It is competitive in terms of safety, spaciousness and overall driving experience and may have a slight advantage in value and warranty coverage. However, its conservative styling needs to catch up with the rest in this field.

The 2007 Elantra has airbags galore both in the front seat-mounted and roof-mounted side curtains, and that’s for both front and rear seats. It also has antilock brakes and four-wheel-disc brakes that are far better than the disc brakes in front and drum brakes at the rear of its competitors.

(4) The Hyundai Tiburon

The Tiburon has been restyled for 2007 and now features lower-placed headlamps, a hallmark of the more mainstream Japanese models, as well as revised taillights and chrome exhaust tips. It also has a new sheetmetal frame with a more wedge-like, mainstream look that is a far cry from the odd-looking and curvy Tiburon model first introduced in the US in 1997.

The handling of the top-of-the-line Tiburon SE has likewise been streamlined to make it smoother and more appealing to enthusiasts.

(5) The Hyundai Santa Fe

With a car’s unibody construction instead of a regular truck’s traditional body-on-frame construction, the Hyundai Santa Fe is more like a “crossover SUV.” The 2007 version has been completely redesigned and is now bigger and better, boasts of more power, bigger legroom and a more sophisticated style.

Unlike last year’s model, the 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe blends naturally into the suburbs. Its brand-new third-row seating allows the 2007 Santa Fe to accommodate up to seven passengers. It also offers improved fuel economy and power, whether its the GLS, SE or Limited trims.

(6) The Hyundai Azera

This year’s Azera has benefitted from minor changes in the interior details to increase its aesthetic value. It is actually a carryover from last year’s model and features the standard 3.8-liter, V6, 263-horsepower engine and 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. This 4-door, 5-passenger family sedan is available in 4 trims, ranging from the SE to the Limited XM.

(7) The Hyundai Tucson

The Tucson is another of Hyundai’s highly-regarded cars for 2007, especially since the 2006 Tucson captured the prestigious J.D. Power and Associates award for “Highest Ranked Multi-Activity Vehicle in Initial Quality” despite being only in its second year of production.

Based on a study of over 63,000 new car owners, the Tucson, on the average, outperformed its competitors in the Multi-Activity Vehicle (MAV) segment in six of eight categories. Overall, Tucson recorded scores that were 23 percent better than the category average. It also received high marks for its safety technology, electronic stability control, curtain airbags and for offering a choice between front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive.

(8) The Hyundai Entourage

In terms of standard safety features, the Hyundai Entourage is head and shoulders above the other minivans available in the market today It is no surprise that the 2007 Entourage garnered the Insurance Institute for Highway Safetys highest and best crash test rating ever for a minivans.

Among the Entourage’s safety and comfort features are six airbags, standard ABS, standard Electronic Stability Control and standard active head restraints. In addition, the Entourage boasts of lots of space to spare, including seating for seven and huge cargo space.

Advantages Of Hybrid Cars

Published by Alfred Lancer under Motorcycles

There are a number of advantages that arise from using a hybrid car over a conventional vehicle. The rising cost of fuel is a big issue for a number of people especially in present times and people are constantly looking for alternative ways of saving money. Some use fuel replacements but others make the smarter decision to cut down on their need for fuel by using a hybrid car. Hybrid cars use small gasoline engines combined with an electric motor which reduces the amount of fuel used, lowering the cost of running a car as well as lowering the gas emissions released into the atmosphere.

The biggest advantage of using hybrid cars is the effect they have on pollution levels. They can dramatically reduce the amount of gas emissions released and provide both an economically and environmentally friendly machine. The growing technologies of hybrid cars hold many advantages over conventional vehicles as they are becoming more and more affordable and the results in emissions can only improve as time goes on.

Although the effects on the environment are excellent most people think that the advantage of using hybrid cars is the amount of gas which is regularly saved. Manufacturers are constantly researching ways of improving the efficiency of hybrid cars making them the car to watch in the future as the benefits steadily improve.

There are a number of economic advantages to using hybrid cars, the most popular being the amount of money that can be saved on gas. This is hugely important especially during times of rising gas prices and due to the fact that the lack of fuel supplies will drive up prices in the future, preparation for this is essential. This is how hybrid cars can be of an advantage economically as they are extremely fuel efficient and provide lifetime savings on the use of gasoline.

Other economic advantages of using hybrid cars are the number of tax credits available for owners of hybrid cars. There are many financial incentives geared towards influencing the public to use these environmentally friendly cars and people should take advantage of them while they can. A tax rebate can be just the thing to persuade car owners to switch to hybrid cars as they are now a smarter option that is constantly being updated to improve the efficiency even further and provide even more savings.

For Bike Safety Choose An Indian Motorcycle Jacket

Published by Imran Shah under Motorcycles

selecting proper riding clothing is an important safety measure for any biker. There are more choices now than ever before in material, weight, and style. An Indian Motorcycle jacket in leather is an investment in both safety and style…

Helmets will provide protections for your head but you must also pick protective gear for certain other parts of your body which is vulnerable. Places like knee, ankle, shoulders, knuckles have thin skin covering over the bone which if injured takes long time to heal. Therefore you will need protective covering for these areas too.

You should also think of scenarios in which you might collide and slide along the road, and choose garments that will stay put if you were to get into one of those sliding situations. That means that you should choose a jacket where cuffs are frimly fastened. Adjustable fasteners around the midriff will keep your jacket down instead of sliding up your torso.

Also consider road heat. If an article of clothing can merely take a cool iron it will melt on a hot road surface, and if it’s next to your skin, it will melt into your flesh. Sure, a jacket can be a pain if you stay in a warm climate, but you’ve perhaps heard the saying “It’s better to sweat than to bleed.”

You might like to acquire an Indian Motorcycle jacket for yourself simply for its great fit and style apart from the riding needs. If you need one good looking jacket your first choice should be Indian with stone washed buffalo leather, quilted interior and stretch patches on the elbow for durability.

Most parts of Indian jacket are fitted out with zip and all the stuff has an Indian Motorcycle brand mark on them. The cuffs for example have zip on then to make them easy to tighten or loosen them. The front two pockets and chest pockets have zips on them with a pocket inside the jacket.

The rich brown colored jacket is very stylish with a diagonal front two way zipper putting a touch of extra class. The back is fitted out with a patch of quilted material to make it look even more chic.

The Indian jacket is not only useful for riding but it makes a fashion statement so it will always remain popular and people will want to wear it whether riding or not. Especially in certain climate this jacket will help you to keep warm throughout the winter.

There are certain considerations when you purchase riding clothing. The first important thing to consider is its capacity to protect you. Next is the style and durability. When you buy an Indian motorcycle jacket you can find all three in large quantity in it and you can find it on the Zappos.com.

Indian motorcycle leather jackets not only look cool but are an important piece of riding gear. If you would like to read more about Indian accessories including Indian motorbike buckles please click on one of the links here.

A Review Of Motorcycle Insurance

Published by Coleen Smith under Motorcycles

While we are at it, some things to keep in mind when buying any insurance policy, even Motorcycle Insurance. You have to choose how much deductible you are able to pay, in case you have a claim. They are nice about it by letting you choose the amount, so you can get affordable cycle insurance. But, keep the money tucked away, in case you need it. If you do have a claim, Comprehensive and Collision are going to cover it, no matter who is at fault.

Just an example, here. You are out on the bike and hit a car, then a tree and bounce into a fence and run over some other non-living thing. Your Collision policy just pay for the loss.

A slightly different example. Here you hit some type of animal knocking you into the side of car, which throws you and your bike into a fence. Now the river starts rising to flood your bike. As you are floating away some guy starts beating the dickens out of your motorcycle, takes it with him then throws it in a fire. This is your lucky day because your Comprehensive coverage just kicked in and paid the claim.

A person was injured during all that and had medical expenses when you took out the fence. Your Bodily Injury and Property Damage Liability just went into action and paid the bill, for the amount under the total limit you set up when you bought the policy. Remember when you choose liability limits that if the bill goes over that limit it could cost you everything over that, even your other assets.

When all of that wreck, above, was happening, you got injured, too. And, now you get to spend the next three years undergoing medical care. But, you know your Medical Payments Coverage is going to cover the expenses, unless you live in a state where they require your other insurance to be used up before this kicks in. There is a maximum this will pay, so ask all about it before you sign.

Now it is one of those days and you have a mechanical breakdown. Gotta pull over and see what is wrong. You call the number they gave you. A guy from the nearest qualified repair shop is on his way to fix things. Nothing to worry about, your Roadside Assistance coverage is going to pick up the tab on all of this expense, and you will not have to pay a single coin to get back on your way. Oh, and, after you leave you end up trapped in the snow, mud and slopping around in the water mixed with sand just 100 feet off the road, and the trailer you are pulling has a wheel lock up. Still not a problem. Roadside Assistance comes to the rescue. Twenty four hours a day, seven days a week you have this protection and usually for just a single George Washington a month.

In this story you spend a lot of money dressing out your rig. It is fine. But, you suddenly realize something is missing, so you file a claim. Your Accessory coverage just covered the loss that your Comp and Collision did not pick up.

This is the disclaimer that no animals, fences, motorcycles or people were injured or destroyed in the above examples. These were just some images to think about for a person who needs Motorcycle Insurance to give a lot of consideration, if they want to be covered for any loss.

If you own a motorcycle, then you definitely need to compare motorcycle insurance. There are many motor bike insurance quotes waiting for you right now.

Tips On How To Invest In Bikes On-Line Inexpensively

Published by Cathy Garrett under Motorcycles

If you’re searching for the perfect bike and looking to buy motorcycles, then you should probably be aware of the following.

First up, is the bike suitable for the reason you are buying it? Also have you thought about where to look to buy the bike and what type of basic checks to make before handing over your money? Here are some quick pointers.

What I mean is a 1250cc sports bike is probably no good to you if it is for your daily commute to work in the city. Sports bikes can be quite uncomfortable, especially in slow traffic. On the other hand if you want a sports bike for leisure or racing then go for it, there’s no point in getting a cruiser for the track but could be more comfortable on your commute to work.

When you have decided on the type of bike you want, ensure that the dealerships and websites you search for your perfect riding partner are reputable. Even though buying privately could be cheaper, you have less of a comeback if anything goes wrong with the bike and no type of warranty or guarantee if it breaks down. If you do buy privately then it’s probably a good idea to take the bike to a dealership to have it checked over. Also a vehicle search can help find out information such as whether the bike hasn’t been stolen or written off in the past.

Next is the test drive. You really need to make a thorough search of the bike and listen for strange sounds coming from the engine, gears and wheels. Also is the steering smooth and responsive? Drive slowly and quickly on various road surfaces in towns and on the highway. If the bike seems ok mechanically and the dials work fine then it’s onto the last step.

Lastly, check that the bike looks fine. If you can check the tyres, spokes, under the seat, brake fluid and all other aspects of the bike. Do the dials seem to work properly? Ideally the bike should have the owner manual with full service history too. Some of these things can be found out with the owner before going to see the bike itself and can save you time.

When you buy motorcycles there are some real gems and bargains to be found so make sure you search high and low to find your perfect ride!

Finding The Perfect Scooter

Published by Kristi Kelley under Motorcycles

Scooters come in all shapes and sizes, from the small one suitable for children, to the larger one, great for tricks. If you’re just looking for a scooter to ride through the park, then you might be confused by this variety, and might end up choosing something that doesn’t fit your needs. Why spend more on something you don’t need or probably never going to use, or why spend less on a flimsy scooter, that’s going to brake after prolonged use.

There isn’t such a large range of models if you’re looking not only for looks, but also for durability. You’re not a kid, and you’re not going to use it for tricks, so what should you choose? You know what you want, but you’re not sure if what’s on the market is what you need. Just keep in mind that cheap items are so cheap for a reason, and no one is going to sell a product for less then it costs them to make. So what do you choose?

You cannot go wrong if you choose a well-known brand, solid, and good-looking. There aren’t so many options if you go for one of these, and they are quite expensive, but, hey, you deserve the best, don’t you? You’d better choose carefully, because you are going to spend a lot of time on that scooter.

The micro flex scooter is one of the best options. You can ride it in the park, or you can ride it to work, providing it’s not very far. Everybody could do with a little exercise, no matter how fit you are. The micro scooter, as its name suggests, can be easily carried in your backpack so you won’t have to look for a parking place.

While enjoying your ride, you’d better avoid that specific spot in the park where teens practice their tricks on scooters. They seem so easy. If you’ve watched them once, you’re hooked. You would want to do those flips and stunts, too. You know it’s not as easy as it looks, but who can resist temptation?

Motorcycle Cover – A Must For Any Motorcycle Owner

Published by Robert Stewart under Motorcycles

A motorcycle cover is a must for any motorcycle owner, as it is the most simple and effective way to protect the bike from adverse weather effects. A lot of folks do not use their motorcycles in the coldest part of the winter or during inclement weather because of the danger it presents and it is really cold on a motorcycle in the winter.

Motorcycles cannot be left to the elements and need to be covered. Even if the motorcycle is housed in a garage it will still need some type of cover on it to prevent dust and dirt from building up on it. This may not seem like much more than a visual issue at first, but in the long run it can cause problems.

A motorcycle cover can simply be a tarp thrown over the motorcycle and secured with some elastic cords. Most of the time a motorcycle owner will opt for a better cover than just a tarp slung over the bike.

There are more options for these covers than one might expect. Some can be fitted to fit your specific motorcycle. A custom made cover can be quite expensive but will provide the best protection for the motorcycle. One can be made to fit a few different models or may be categorized by the types of bike that it will fit. For example there may be a one size fits all approach that will be labeled to fit choppers.

For extra protection, these types of covers are also made out of water resistant material. This is a must even if you keep your bike indoors when not in use. Some of the material that is used to fashion them can be quite high tech and are not only water resistant but also mildew proof.

These can be purchased any place that motorcycle accessories are sold. There are a lot of options out there so doing a little price comparison can save some money. They can usually be purchased through catalogs and online shops.

The most affordable motorcycle cover will be type that fits all models. These are also the least effective. Those that are made for certain sizes or model lines will be more expensive. The cost will well be worth the investment, it will protect the motorcycle from potential damage caused by the elements and dirt and dust.

Whether to store your motorcycle inside or outside, having a protective motorcycle cover will keep it protected from dust, wind, rain, and whatever else goes its way.

The Evolution Of The Harley

Published by Abraham Frazier under Motorcycles

The Harley Davidson Company officially commenced with the completion of its first bike in 1903. Unofficially it all began in 1901 when 21-year-old William S. Harley drew up plans for a small engine that displaced 7.07 cubic inches and had 4-inch flywheels.

By 1903 William Harley had joined with his boyhood friend Arthur Davidson, as well as Arthur’s bro Walter. They used the machine shop of their pal Henry Melk to complete the prototype of their first engine-powered bike. The engine that powered this prototype wasn’t quite strong enough to launch the motored-bike up Milwaukee’s modest hills without the rider resorting to pedal power.

The first “real” Harley Davidson bike was eventually completed with further help from another Davidson brother named William. It had a bigger engine of 24.74 cubic inches with 9-3 / four inch flywheels weighing 28 pounds. The new bike was functional by September 08, 1904, and made its first appearance in a Milwaukee bike race.

The first Harley Davidson Motor Company factory was built in 1906 on Chestnut Street. It had been a modest forty by sixty foot single story wooden structure. Chestnut Street was later renamed Juneau Avenue, and though the first structure was replaced, this location remains the Motor Company’s company headquarters to this day. A total of fifty motorbikes were produced in 1906.

The next year, 1907 brought about much change for the fledgling company. William S. Harley graduated from the school of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in mechanical engineering. The factory was expanded and the company officially incorporated. Production increased to 150 bikes in 1907.

Success continued in the years that followed. The original factory was demolished and replaced by a new 5-story structure of fortified concrete and red brick. It soon grew to take up 2 blocks along Juneau Avenue and around the corner on 38th Street. In this period bikes produced by Harley Davidson started to dominate the bike racing arena and production reached 16,284 in 1914.

World War I saw the requirement for motorbikes in the army. Harley Davidson provided over 20,000 motorbikes to army forces during World War I. Enhancements and increased production continued after the war. The Harley Davidson Motor Company was in fact one of only 2 American cycle manufacturers to survive the Great Depression. The company continued to supply machines for the army through World War Two and the Korean War. The Jeep then replaced it in appreciation.

The Harley Davidson Motor Company is still going robust today, regardless of bumps and bruises along the path. You’ll recognize it on the Stock Market under the symbol HOG.

Why Must You Buy A Fuzion Asphalt Ultimate Carving Scooter?

Published by Kenneth Ramos under Motorcycles

Whenever I went to the park, I used to watch the kids doing tricks with their scooters. No wonder that my biggest desire was to have one of my own, and try all those stunts. My parents tried to convince that I need to grow up a little, and understand the value of money by working for it.

I told them I would do whatever it takes to raise the required amount, and I started doing different chores for them, and even for some of our neighbors. Even though it was tiring, I kept at it until I had enough money to buy one. My only problem was that it wasn’t enough to buy the model I actually wanted.

Even if it wasn’t the one I longed for, I was very proud of it, so I called all my friends to come and see it. They weren’t quite interested at first, but after a few days they came to try it on. They started with a short ride in the backyard, and in no time at all they fell for it, and wanted to have their own scooter, so that they wouldn’t have to share, and fight for mine.

I gave them as much information as I could about the best models, and soon everybody in my group had one. As I was the first with a scooter, they came to me anytime they needed their toy repaired, so I got some money out of it. Soon I had enough money for my dream scooter: the fuzion asphalt ultimate carving machine. This was perfect for doing tricks. I have become one of the kids showing off in the park, and my scooter has become the dream of all the children in the neighborhood. I loved the feeling of knowing everyone was watching me whenever I was riding it.

Doing tricks with my new scooter isn’t as difficult as I thought, and I have become really good at it. My friends look up at me, I’m happy that I’ve made my dream come true, and my parents are pleased that I have learnt something important: the value of money.
