Waste Bin Rental For Junk Removal: A Few Things To Think About
The fact is that the greater majority of people go through most of their lives without ever having the need for a large commercial sized waste receptacle. So when the time does come when they do need one, for many folks, and you may be one of them are at a loss as to what to do. What size they should get, etc. You see, there really is more to it than meets the eye.
As an example if you’re like most folks who are renting for the first time, you really only consider the actual “volume” of the trash you’re hauling. That’s the size you will want. The fact is though, that you have to think of the weight of your load as well. Particularly if you are loading up heavy objects. Stuff like scrap metal, and rock will require a larger size than you might think.
The problem here is that the company will have a limit on how high you can fill the bin with these heavier materials. As an example your limit with rock or concrete chunks will be about 2 feet high. That’s it. Load the unit any higher and they can refuse to haul it until you remove the excess, and you can get stuck paying for each day over you’re stuck with it.
Still one more thing that you may have neglected to consider, is that you can’t load any hazardous waste materials into a standard haul away dumpster. Things like old motors that haven’t had their oil drained and even old sealed paint cans are considered hazardous, and then you have asbestos. You see a lot of older homes have it in their tiles and siding, even though it’s been long since banned.
Now something else that you most likely haven’t thought of is security. That is keeping other folks from loading your rented trash bin up with their own junk, and it happens all the time. Now it’s not such a big problem if you have a larger unit but if you rent a smaller one you should buy a lock, or you may end up with it filled with someone else’s junk.
Lastly if you don’t have room on your lot or yard for the unit you rent then make sure to get a permit if you plan on parking it in the street. Now it’s relatively cheap and the company will be able to tell you where to get it, but going without one can get quite expensive if you get ticketed. You just don’t want to learn any lessons the hard way.
